Do you make friends with your substitute teachers?

I know in my school, everyone knows the substitute teachers because there's a few that are always around, and we've known them all the way from elementary school through high school with the same subs. I have heard that in some places, the subs are really mean and nasty and everybody hates them and misbehaves. So does your school have a bunch of substitutes who are friendly and everyone has a good relationship with, or are they all just random subs who are mean and nasty?
